Disney has come out with a new movie (direct to video) about one of the most famous fairies - Tinker Bell. The film tells the story of Tinker Bell growing up in Pixie Hollow and how she learns a good lesson that not everyone can have the “glamorous” talents and that each of us has a special talent that makes us unique.
In many of the reviews I’ve read about the film adults say that it’s a wonderfully entertaining movie for children but also enjoyable by adults.
Here’s some images from the film that show it’s a computer generated graphics:
And here’s a clip from the film. I love the way they have kept the spirit of Tink and that she just keeps getting herself in and out of the strangest situations.
Who of us hasn’t been enchanted by the mysterious world of fairies? For me it all began as a child seeing some of the classic Disney movies. Being one who always liked to doodle and do drawings I often found myself drawing fairies - and even when I got into sculpting I found some of the best things I did were fairies and other mystical creatures. I guess that’s why I’m so interested in finding examples of fairies and their world as expressed through art.
I can’t really tell what I’ll put in the blog - but it will be about fairies and the way they are shown in the world of art.
Thanks for stopping by and do spend some time exploring the site.
